Pendulum
Clock

Created an original fully functional weight-driven pendulum clock with innovative escapement mechanism, aesthetic design, original effective mechanism architecture, and unique pulley weight drive system.

First, I brainstormed and hand-drafted the clock's general mechanical design, the geartrain architecture and design, aesthetic design, drive systems (especially weight-driven systems) and escapement mechanisms.

Next, I designed the device using Fusion-360. I generated the gears with a custom python script for Fusion-360. After rough conceptual creative design of the escapement mechanism, I mathematically calculated the specific angles and geometry of the escapement mechanism. Then, I designed the clock's overall structure, making it effective, minimalistic and aesthetic. Lastly, I virtually assmebled a mechanical model of the clock.

Lastly, I laser-cutted all the parts out of plywood, and assembled the clock. After assembly, I fine-tuned and calibrated the device. In the end, it worked smoothly and effectively.
